Endless Summer
Brian Campbell

Here we are, the 10th of November and it is 13 degrees Celsius outside. Kind of makes you wonder what the big problem is with global warming anyway.  Ok, before people start getting up in arms, I know that global warming is a bad thing; the thinning of the ozone layer, skin cancer, polar icecaps melting; I get it. But for a person who usually expects to be slogging through snow at this time of year, not to mention a person who has trouble thinking of anything worse than slogging through snow, it is very difficult to focus on the negative aspect of it.  Some say that it is our reward for suffering through a BC style month of winter rain in October. But whatever the reason, I know that that the dream will eventually come to an end and slogging through snow lies in my future, so I’m going to enjoy it while I have it.

After a hard fought election in the USA, a new president has finally been chosen. But it looks like the fallout of the election is just beginning. All I can say is that I’m happy to be in Canada, where you can disagree about your politicians and still remain friends. Please let it always be so.

Tomorrow is November 11, and in Canada that means Remembrance Day. Please take some time to think of all of those who have sacrificed their lives and their health for our freedom. What would the world be like now without them? Never forget.

Finally, in spite of what it looks like outside, Christmas, Chanukah and a great number of other holidays are right around the corner. I will be more than happy to discuss this next month.

Until then, enjoy the weather take care and have a great month.
